Joseph Wolf (b. 21st January 1820,d. 20th April 1899) was a German artist who specialized in natural history illustration.Wolf depicted animals accurately in lifelike postures and is considered one of the great pioneers of wildlife art.
Johann Baptist Zwecker (1814-1876) was a German illustrator of books and magazines.Zwecker studied art in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt,Germany and around 1860,he set up a studio in London with Joseph Wolf.He is however,best known for his artwork for natural history books including Alfred Russel Wallace's The Geographical Distribution of Animals.His greatest work was to illustrate John George Wood's Popular Natural History (Routledge,1871) in three volumes.
Thomas Bolton Gilchrist Septimus Dalziel (1823-1906) was an engraver known chiefly for his illustrations of the work of Charles Dickens.Thomas Dalziel produced many illustrations for books published by the family firm,the Brothers Dalziel.
